Our Story

Created by best friends Debbie Agar and Melissa Lytle. 

Originally from Orange County, CA the two were florists together, designing weddings, equestrian shows, and holiday decor for private homes and businesses. 

Melissa moved to the Big Island in 2020 with Debbie following shortly after in 2025. Being back together in such a beautiful, lush place, the creative juices started to flow! Part of living here is to lead with respect for the aina and to draw inspiration from our community. With Debbie’s background in award show management, Melissa’s experience with her gift and flower shop, and the incredible beauty we're surrounded by, Living Waimea began to take shape!

Living Waimea is your new floral design team for weddings, parties, holidays, and events. But it’s also growing vegetables, mastering culinary recipes, raising Akausgi beef, and enjoying the animals!
